Pet.net was Consumers' proof-of-concept, running on the latest version of the e-commerce engine. An online pet supply store with an ongoing "Cute Pet" contest, message boards and a live Vet, Pet.net lead the way into the online pet supply market. The site's templates and publishing system were built from scratch, we partnered with a local pet wholesaler to distribute and photograph the products, and our team built all the pages using the new publishing system.   The site was a success and, while not an amazing revenue generator, it was profitable and it proved the e-commerce engine was solid and reliable. Pet.net was spun off as a separate company in the Fall of 1998 and quickly merged with PetSmart.com.   Click on the thumbnails to the left to view screenshots of the original Pet.net site.
